- What
are your favorite movies of all time? Dramas: Lord of the Rings (the whole
trilogy), and Shawshank Redemption, Comedy: Napoleon
Dynamite and Bananas, Romance: When Harry Met Sally, The Story of Us, and
The Wedding Singer Horror: The Dead Zone, Dark City,
The Sixth Sense, The Others and Poltergeist
- What
are the books that changed your life? Hmmm, couldn’t say any have changed
my life so much, but I think “You can be the Wife of a Happy Husband”
shaped a lot of my ideas of what a good wife does and is. Of course there
is the Book of Mormon, but it didn’t change my life because it has always
been there in my life. I loved “The Lord of the Rings”, “Harry Potter”
series, “Roots”, “Queen” I really couldn’t list all of my favorite books,
there have been SO MANY!
- If you
could be an animal, what would it be? A bird, because I wouldn’t be afraid
of heights, and it seems they have the most freedom of anyone.
- If you
could have any pet you wanted what would it be? A kitten or puppy that always stayed cute
and small. Right now pets don’t appeal to me all that much, just one more
being that I have to take care of. Perhaps when my youngest isn’t a baby
anymore and I actually have the burning desire to clean up yet another
poop.
- What
would you name it? Frodo or Ash. Frodo for obvious reasons, Ash because it
was a name we considered more than once for our sons but couldn’t talk
ourselves into it.
- What
is your favorite song or musician? “Come What May” from Moulin Rouge, or soooo many others I love. I am a big fan of
Soundtracks and my favorite musicians for those are James Newton Howard,
(Unbreakable), Howard Shore (Lord of the Rings) and Hans Zimmer (The
Gladiator).
- What
is your favorite game? Pictionary because I have
a lot of positive memories playing the game with my family growing up. I
also enjoy role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. I grew up playing
that with my big brother and it is something that my husband and I enjoy
playing together as well. My favorite characters to play are monks,
thieves, fighters and swashbucklers. I also like to play solitaire on the
computer. The Mexican Train Game and Scattergories
are pretty fun too.
- What
about websites, which ones are your favorite? Home Star Runner, IMDB, Fly
Lady, my mission Database (The Chicago Illinois Mission in specific),
- What
TV shows do you try to catch every episode of? Battle Star Galactica, (it is to Science Fiction what Lord of the
Rings is to fantasy for me. I love this show!) House (kind of predictable
and stupid at times but predictable) I got into it when Tim was working on
Tuesday and Thursday evenings but now that he is home again, I don’t tend
to watch it very faithfully. Battle Star Galactica
is worth watching even when Tim is around.
- What
do you want to be when you grow up? Marriage and Family Therapist because
there is nothing more important than the family and a marriage. I find
great joy being with my husband and think we were careful when we got to
know each other and I have certain rules that I keep that I think help us
remain so. I also want to learn everything there is to know about this
subject so that we can stay happy.
- What
is your favorite food group? (Dairy, meat, fruits, etc.) Dairy, I love
yogurt, cheese and ice cream, and sometimes I just need a glass of milk.
- Of all
the fruit in the world, which one is your favorite? Mangos are a new
favorite for me. They are delicious to the all the 5 senses, truly a
sensuous treat.
- What
about vegetable? Corn on the cob is my favorite vegetable for sure
- What
about types of cheese? Gouda is very yummy,
Edam is
pretty darn good and I really like Cheese balls of any kind.
- What
food could you never eat? Gross body parts like Pigs feet, Menudo, tongue, etc.
- What
would you request as a last meal? Barbeque ribs, sweet potatoes with brown
sugar sauce, stuffing, and baked Alaska
for desert.
- What
smells provoke strong memories for you? Musty sheds or certain flower
(don’t know its name) remind me of grandpas lake, bark reminds me of
playing at my elementary school in California, and cigarettes on a cold
rainy morning ( or a cold morning without the cigarette smell) remind me
of Frankfurt when we first moved to Germany
- Which
vacation has been your favorite? Probably my trips to Italy when I was a kid. Especially
the ones where we saw Pisa Alight, and also went to Rome,
Pompeii and Naples.
- What
would be the vacation of your dreams? Hmm, that is hard, pretty much
anything with Just Tim. Perhaps Hawaii or
Italy
again, without Kids and parents (sorry guys I love you but…it loses some
of the romance when there are more than just you and your beloved.) I
would also enjoy going to Greece
on a cruise, or going to Egypt,
India, or Australia.
I look forward to going hiking and camping with my kids but it would be
fun to actually go back packing with my husband too.
- What
are some of your earliest memories? Being in Nursery and getting little
cheese and ham cubes on toothpicks. Waking up to David playing cowboy and
wanting my picture taken as a cowgirl too. Thinking patriotic thoughts
when I found out my family was moving to Germany at a family home
evening.
- What
is your favorite toy? Ummmm you mean sex toy? I
would rather not say.
- What
is your dream car? Something cute small, green and convertible.
- What
is your favorite season? Fall, I love the crispness of the air, sweaters,
fires in the fire place but no heavy coats, dangerous roads and grey skies
- What
is your favorite joke? Any joke by Jim Gaffigan,
(“Now they have a lean pocket for those who want to eat healthy but still
want diarrhea”)Kevin James (“I’m not going to be stuck behind you in line
behind you because I am having trouble remembering how to spell
‘thirteen’” and Bryan Regan ( speaking as a kid to “You know Steven? Well,
you know how his arm does this? Well it doesn’t do that anymore and I
thought since you are going to the store anyway,…you might want to take
him to the hospital on the way”
m
- What
are your favorite clothes? Sweaters, capris,
long slim skirts, things that show and flatter my figure but aren’t
revealing or too tight.
- Were
would you like to live? By the Ocean. I always thought if I never got
married I would want to live in Italy some day. I would like
to live anywhere on either coast, not in a big city, but near one.
- What
superpower would you like to have? Being invisible to be a fly on the wall
in someone’s conversation.
- If you
got a tattoo, what would it be? I really couldn’t think of getting a
tattoo. But I would get one on the small of my back. Perhaps Tim’s name or
something
- What
holiday do you look forward to the most? Christmas. I love everything
about it, the smorgasbord on Christmas Eve, Christmas Tree,
Christmas lights, little Christmas villages.
- Historical
person you would like to meet? Jesus of course. But I can’t think of
anyone I wouldn’t be star struck around and make a fool of myself around. Joseph
Smith, Perhaps a better question for me is who I would like to listen to
them speak or read their autobiography, that would be Lincoln, any of the ancient
prophets.
- Are
there any celebrities you have crushes on? I don’t have crushes so much on
actors as the roles they play. Outside of these rolls I don’t have any
interest in these actors personally. Christopher Walken
in “The Dead Zone as John Smith (hey watch the movie before you judge me!)
Daniel Radcliff as Harry Potter is pretty darn cute, (and pretty darn
young, yeah, I know I am a pervert), but then there is Vigo Mortenson as Aragorn and Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins
in “Lord of the Rings”. Ewan Mcgreggor
in “Moulin Rouge”(can’t remember his character’s name) Rufus Sewell in “Dark City”, Bruce Willis in “The Sixth
Sense”, “Unbreakable”, and “The Story of Us”
- What odd
fascinations and hobbies do you have? Black history, (odd that I am not
African American myself), courtesans, geishas, and other glorified
prostitutes through history. My oddest fascination in my past has been
with horror stuff. As a kid I arranged my doll house to look like the
house in “Poltergeist” and played out the story with my dolls. I also
enjoyed “London Dungeon” a museum about tortures and executions in England
when I was 9. Now that I am older I am a bit more squeamish about such
things however. Especially in the last year or two.
- What
are you scared of? Painful and horrible deaths for me or any of my family.
I also am afraid of not being in control, like in roller coasters, water
slides and in the water when my feet aren’t touching the floor and my
hands aren’t touching the wall.
- What
are your favorite subjects in school? Psychology, science (geology,
astronomy), history.
- What
would you do with a million dollars? Let’s just say it would move me….TO A
BIGGER HOUSE!!!!!!! (Oops, I said the quiet part loud and the loud part
quiet.)
